DBT Groups & Individual Therapy in SeaTac & Virtually Throughout Washington

We offer DBT groups for families in SeaTac and provide virtual sessions across Washington State, focusing on Dialectical Behavior Therapy and parenting therapy.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based form of therapy originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan. It was designed to help people who experience intense emotions and difficulty regulating them.
DBT asserts idea that two things can be true at once: you are doing the best you can, and you can also learn new skills to do better. This balance — between acceptance and change — is at the heart of the approach.
DBT acknowledges that emotional pain is real and that learning to navigate it takes time and practice. It doesn't ask you to simply feel differently. It gives you skills to work with what you're experiencing.
Mindfulness is the foundation of DBT. It involves learning to observe and describe your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment — and to participate fully in the present moment. Mindfulness skills support all other areas of DBT.
Distress tolerance skills help you get through difficult moments without making things worse. Rather than avoiding or reacting impulsively to pain, these skills support you in tolerating distress in ways that are effective and sustainable.
Emotion regulation skills help you understand your emotional experiences, reduce vulnerability to intense emotions, and learn how to change your emotions. This module addresses the patterns that make emotions feel overwhelming or unmanageable.
Interpersonal effectiveness skills help you navigate relationships in ways that are balanced and effective — asking for what you need, setting limits, maintaining self-respect, keeping important relationships intact, and learning how to identify and end destructive relationships.
This group offers a comprehensive, adherence-focused Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) framework for adults seeking to learn and apply concepts and skills from the four core modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. The structure of the standard curriculum is complemented by an approach grounded in authenticity, radical acceptance, and genuine connection.

This multi-group DBT program provides families with a shared language for navigating emotional challenges. In parallel parent and teen groups, families develop tools for calmer communication, navigating crises, strengthening relationships, and building emotional resilience. Parents also learn how to model the skills their teens are developing, creating greater consistency and connection at home.

Yes. You will need to have an individual therapist to attend any of our DBT groups. If you do not have one at the start of group, we are happy to provide referrals.
The Parent & Teen group is a multifamily structure where teens and their parents participate in separate Teen and Parent groups. At the end of group session, the parents and teens come together with newly learned shared skills and homework to practice throughout the week. This program is designed to foster full family cooperation and generate a lasting, systemic change in the family dynamic.
We recommend that group members commit to attending at least one full cycle of 24 weeks. Gold-standard, full-fidelity DBT suggests two full cycles to allow members to internalize the skills and incorporate them into their daily lives under the therapeutic supervision of the group facilitator and their individual therapist. The cost per session is $100.
