DBT Groups & Individual Therapy in SeaTac & Virtually Throughout Washington
I'm Alana Hutchinson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State and the counselor behind Alana Ahn PLLC.
I believe therapy works best when there is room to slow down, build trust, and feel safe enough in the therapeutic relationship to explore our wounds.
Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded in safety and connection, honoring where you are while creating room for meaningful change.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2018 and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in 2025. I completed Behavioral Tech Institute's Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Foundational Training in 2025.
DBT is my primary therapeutic modality, though I draw from other approaches — including multicultural counseling, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), emotionally focused counseling, parts work, motivational interviewing, and humanistic approaches — to meet each client's individual needs.

I grew up in a military family and have had the opportunity to live in both South Korea and the United States. I feel so fortunate to have experienced living within multiple cultures. In turn, these experiences shaped how I understand the ways culture influences our lives, relationships, identities, values, and sense of belonging.
I welcome conversations about culture, identity, family expectations, belonging, relationships, and the experience of navigating different cultural contexts when those experiences feel relevant to you.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, I practice under the supervision of Jenny Cook Malstrom while completing the requirements for full licensure in Washington State. You can learn more about her clinical practice at https://www.seachangetherapy.co/.
